Real ale reintroduced at the (M&B) All Bar One in early 2012 but ceased soon after.

Refurbished by Urban Pubs & Bars and reopened in April 2024 as the Red Setter, with two handpumps offering guest beers from small breweries.

    The Red Setter is a very nice place. Good atmosphere, comfortable seating and well spaced tables. We came in for late dinner and sat inside. The staff here is very nice and the food is pretty good.. but it did take a while to get our meals. This would be a great place for late night drinks with some apps.

    Attended the South American tasting night and was AMAZING! Great food, beautifully matched wine and wonderful value for money. Fingers crossed they do more nights like this - would HIGHLY recommend

    From the moment we walked in, you could feel The Red Setter had great vibes. It was very busy and had a good vibe buzz and the decor was amazing. We were quickly welcomed and taken to our table. Sophie was looking after us and made us feel welcome. She told us about the menu/food explaining how each dish would be like. She had a passion for the food they served which is always great to hear from a waitress/waiter. She also gave us some advice on accompanying wines for our meal which was equally impressive.     Day 4 - Very impressed by the new pub restaurant on Northcote. The Red Setter replaced the old All-Bar-One and the new owners have done a wonderful revamp of the space. Highly attentive staff deliver a great service around a fantastic menu, (why don't more restaurants offer a roast as a main - in the Setter's case, they have several!). I wasn't disappointed!
