About Sekforde
Warm, long-running pub featuring a menu of elevated comfort food, plus Sunday roasts.
Formerly a Charrington pub and then a free house and finally in the Young's pub company stable. The pub is built on land belonging to Thomas Sekforde who died in 1588. The Sekfordes came originally from Suffolk and pub maintained its contacts there in Woodbridge with inter-pub visits. The pub is now privately owned and has been redeveloped. It has a traditional feel, with a separate restaurant downstairs and a function room upstairs.

The food was excellent, but the service was cold and unfriendly. Loved the scotch eggs. Fried halloumi and Cajun salmon were fine.

Disappointed on this occasion lack of atmosphere two little waitresses obviously more interested what was on her lap top than serving me Not sure if I am correct but are you allowed to puff away on a vape in a public house when smoking is forbidden 🚫 not sure bout the rules on vapes or maybe law doesn’t apply if your a so called Manager Previous week enjoy a pleasant drink and lunch with my Friend waitress Georgia was very attentive and was pleased and friendly to serve us tried to replicate the experience a week later failed miserably ordered food had half of Guinness then cancelled the…

The Sekforde is a very unusual place. I could feel the spirit of the past. It is a historic place. Harry, the manager, is very efficient and will go far to make sure you enjoy your time there. Other staff are very polite and smiley. Prices are very reasonable for this area. I love it.

I recommend that you book first, as it can get very busy. You won't be disappointed!! Six of us had the sunday roast. The pork was absolutely delicious, the beef has to be the best I've ever tasted and the Yorkshire puddings are almost 1 foot high!! Honestly, the best roast dinner I've had. Thank you to my friend Keith (who is a regular), for recommending the sekforde. We will definitely be returning. Lovely bar staff, nice decor and delicious food! 5 stars all round ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Local pub around the corner, the interior is good, the sausage and mesh is very tasty, chios also very good. But we had to wait nearly 30mins to receive our order, it is busy Saturday night, but not super busy. There is a dirty table next to us that hasn't been cleaned for line 20mins at least. The mayo didn't bring to our table until we nearly finished the food, also the food isn't cheap. £5 for a small bow of chips. To sum up, it is a good local pub, food is tasty, but service is lacking.
