About Shelverdine Goathouse

Homey tavern featuring exposed brick, offering updated English grub, ales & spirits.

Formerly the William Stanley, the pub was acquired from Wetherspoon by Antic in 2016. The name comes from a previous name for the local area and a former local landmark pub (the Goat House) which was nearby. Large windows on to the street give a light and airy feel to the 'shabby chic' interior, typical of the style used in many of the company's pubs. The three sections of the large bar area have differing styles of wall decor, featuring clocks, kitchen equipment and pictures among other features. The regular Volden beers are now supplemented by two guest ales. Note that when Crystal Palace are playing a home match, the pub will use plastic glasses. The kitchen is currently closed, but customers are allowed to bring/order in their own food.

New refurb pub in Norwood Junction, much needed in the area. Top service, good food, affordable beer, quiz nights and plenty of table games... Simply the best pub in miles around!!!!

Amazing atmosphere and the bar staff were welcoming. A good range of drinks to suit a range of pallets and their Pink Gin with Lemonade was just what I needed. Refreshing.

This place has a lovely ambience and great staff. Sadly my roast was not so great, it had great flavour but my beef was tough and dry, the Yorkshire pudding was dry and overcooked and the roast potatoes tasted reheated. I might try other food here and come back for drinks, but I won't be having another roast here.

Best pub in the area. Spacious, reasonable selection of beers, selection of board games, looks nice inside.
