About Albert Tavern
The Albert Tavern reopened on 2 June 2022 as one of Greene King's Hive pubs, the company's branded franchise model for community pubs. The sports TV and dartboard have been retained and 'pub grub' is served. The present building was opened in the late '60s, replacing the original which was destroyed by a flying bomb. The interior has subsequently been altered, leaving a one bar pub. Following a threat of closure in summer 2019 Croydon Council gave the pub Asset of Community Value status.

The Albert Tavern The Albert Tavern is a gem of a pub, perfect for both casual visitors and sports enthusiasts alike. The first thing that strikes you is how well-kept and clean the place is. From the moment you walk in, the staff greets you with a warm and polite attitude, making you feel right at home. The pub boasts a great selection of beers, ciders, and lagers, so there's something for every taste. They even serve coffee for those who might not be in the mood for alcohol. The menu is solid, offering plenty of choices to accompany your drinks. For sports lovers, this place is ideal…

🚇 Norwood Junction 🍺 £5.30 Heineken A Friendly South Norwood Local. The Albert Tavern is located in a quiet side street in South Norwood close to South Norwood Country Park. The nearest station is Norwood Junction, it’s about a ten minute walk to get here. The Albert Tavern was originally built in 1867. During WWII, German Bombers destroyed the pub, it was eventually rebuilt in the 1960's with an estate pub look and feel. This is a traditionally decorated one bar pub that has a modern feel to it. The servery is long and stretches down the length of the bar. There is plenty of seating…

So happy to see the Albert get back to how it should be!!!! The team have created an brilliant and welcoming atmosphere. The new menu has everything you could want from your local. The management team have really listened to their customers and are willing to make changes based on suggestions. Karaoke Bingo is awesome and is great fun! Well done everyone!!!!

Really impressed. My partner and I came in as we are moving into the area and of course the sellers weren’t gone yet and still loading the moving van. We came in desperate for a drink and something to eat as this would be our new local and now we had time to kill. The prices are really reasonable, the staff helpful and I was pressed how clean the place is!! It’s a sweet highlight to what is probably going to be a long day! Looking forward to the free coffee on Mondays :)

Everything you need in a local with a good beer selection, sports on tv, pool table and darts board and very friendly staff. Only advice for management would be careful not to allow it to turn into a crèche, the last 2 times I’ve been in to watch the football it’s been overrun by kids which not everyone enjoys in a pub.
