About Square Pig

Relaxed pub with quirky decor and a retro soundtrack, doling-out British-style tapas dishes.

Closed for a period for a facelift which includes a larger outside terrace with heated awning and tables and chairs on decking facing Red Lion Square Gardens. Cask beer has returned in the form of a house beer from Greene King.

Occupying the ground floor of a modern office block, at corner of Red Lion Square, this is an L-shaped bar drinking area at street level. Contemporary style décor, high re-purposed-wood tables surrounded by seating, and some vibrant artwork; the downstairs cocktail bar has teal, black and dark brown leather booths, with contemporary light fixtures.

Recorded music can be loud in evenings. Disabled toilet, main door wheelchair accessible. Food menus can be found on their website including light bites, wraps and burgers.

The Square Pig is one of my absolute fave London pubs! The food is absolutely delicious (especially the small plates), and they always have a great selection of interesting beers on tap - not the same old Amstel etc you seem to see everywhere else! Team are super friendly and you can tell that they just all get on with each other really well. Couldn’t recommend enough!

Brilliant and friendly people working here, really lifted the mood. Spent a fortune as a result, but worth it. Decent food, must say. The staff and bar people make this place a real winner. The echoing in the room was a bit much, all very hard furniture and wood floor I guess, but couldn’t hear a thing. But that’s probably my age!

What seems to be an average pub is below average. I went with my partner at open around 12:00, we were greeted by slow service in which we had to get our own menus, the pub also smelt like cat piss. As for the food it's your typical London prices however our steak and burger we received were burnt and bitter. My partner mentioned to the wait that they couldn't stomach how burnt the meat was and didn't even get an apology. I wholly can't recommend this place at all and would even recommend people to stay away.

Modern pub with a traditional feel with a nice outside terrace on Red Lion Square. Good range of beers.

A very large, modern pub with outdoor seating and a function room downstairs. Some TV screens available (to watch the rugby, on this occasion) but they don’t dominate the pub. A large range of craft beers and very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.
