About Swan & Bottle

Pub with a menu of traditional British dishes & a family-friendly vibe.

Dating from the 17th century when it used to be two pubs, the Olde Swan and the Leather Bottle, it was once passed by Charles I, this is a large pub with low ceilings, open beams and plenty of wood panelling. There are several sections but only one bar. The River Colne flows by the pub and the Grand Union Canal passes the car park. The menu is supplemented by a large range of daily specials and varies from sandwiches to full three-course meals. Locally listed. Refurbished in late 2019 moving the bar back to the front of the pub.

Historic pub. Kitted out in traditional style. The staff are polite and efficient. Massive seating areas outside and in. Im not sure if the dog station is a joke though!

I had lunch in this place recently. The place is nice when the sun is out. The food is nice. Good price quality. A pity there is no service at the table.

Had a lovely evening meal with my partner at the Swan & Bottle. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. It's spacious and comfortable inside and the food was excellent. Highly recommend the chef's board as a sharing starter and the pork belly was really tasty. Good value for money.

Went here for a family meal and I have to say the food was absolutely terrible. We ordered our 3 year old a pizza and when it arrived it was clearly a Chicago town pizza that has been cooked in the microwave. It was inedible. The chips had looked like they had been sat out all day and thrown back into the fryer to heat them up. Our other son had a burger, which was just as awful. The picture attached is how the burger came out before our son started eating it. The roasts we ordered we terrible. Cold, dry and the roast potatoes were rock hard. Won’t be returning here any time soon.
