About Tooting Tavern
This pub was the Manor until May 2024, when M&B closed it for refurbishment before reopening under the pub's original name.
It's a now a smart "'bar and grill' serving variety of rotating craft keg beers alongside the three handpumps with cask beers.
Decor is light cream walls and ceilings over dark panelling and varnished floorboards, some exposed brickwork and a cherub motif extending to a framed modern plaster casting. Imaginatively laid out, it has several seating areas at different levels around the bar, a flagged, part-covered enclosed patio to rear and benches and tables at the front.
Originally the Tooting Tavern, it was the Freedom & Firkin until 2003, then the George until 2006, then the Garden House.

A Hidden Gem in Tooting – Unforgettable Nachos and Pizza! I recently visited the Tooting Tavern and was blown away by the culinary experience. The homemade nachos, made with a unique pizza base, were nothing short of exquisite! The combination of crispy, flavorful base and perfectly seasoned toppings made them an absolute treat. The meat feast pizza was equally impressive. From the soft, perfectly baked pizza base to the generous and delicious toppings, every bite was a testament to the care and quality the chefs put into their craft. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the staff…

Lovely, stylish interior and plenty of outside space. Stopped by for lunch and a drink. Staff were friendly and attentive. Everything was clean, tidy and the renovation overall is beautiful. We ordered the chicken cesar salad, chips and bread. Zero complaints. Delicious.

Really good gluten free food - had 4 starters (truffle fries, arancini, calamari and cauliflower bites) all gluten free / coeliac- friendly and a choice of gluten free beers. It’s a huge pub with a welcoming atmosphere and a good few tables on the road front. The beer garden out back looked lovely too, but they were all watching football on the big screen. Maybe they could separate this so there’s a sport watching area and a space for more chairs and tables out back. Otherwise nice staff, very quick, and a good range of drinks on tap.

This is my new local since I moved to the area a few weeks ago, however I would come down with my partner to get used to the area and see how it was like and we loved the Tooting tavern and its renovation so much that it was a factor in our decision to move. I also have to say the pizzas are excellent especially the pepperoni and hot honey and the chicken and bacon burger is top tier! Congrats to the owners and the team for what they’ve achieved!!

First time visiting, we've been to the two previous incarnation of pubs at the same location and this seems to be the best out of the bunch. We went today (Sunday) for a late lunch and to watch the FA Cup. The place was packed and managed to find a nice spot. We got a plate of nachos and fish n chips. We did ask for the to come together, but separate but not too much of an issue. Both tasted good and were pleased with them.
