Cosmopolitan, modern wine bar and cafe with downstairs party space, outdoor terrace.

Modern wine/cafe bar in an attractive yard tucked away off Bury Street. Now has a Spitfire handpump on the ground floor as well as one in the basement badged as Old Wallop which will be the same beer. In the downstairs bar the Davy's formula of sawdust and candles prevails. Beer sold in pewter pots and although cheaper by the four pint jug, it still remains expensive. The light interior has stone flagged floors with dark wood round tables and chairs, some armchairs and light wood panelling. Unobtrusive background music. The accent is very much on food and wine. There is a large outdoor seating area in a Georgian yard surrounded by local boutiques and shops. Food is served 11.00 - 15.30 and 17.00 - 20.30 Mon - Fri, 11.00 – 15.00 Sat. Mains range from £10-£15 including steaks, salmon, bangers and mash. Hot and cold sandwiches range from £5.95 to £9.85 and salads and sharing platters £5- £10. Tube - Holborn.

    My dining experience at Truckles was truly exceptional. From the moment we entered, the welcoming atmosphere and attentive staff made us feel right at home. The menu offered a delightful array of dishes. Every bite was a culinary delight. Fantastic choice of wines. Thank you to the management for accommodating such a big group of people so easly. Highly recommended place. Definitely we are coming back soon.

    Absolute gem of a place! The wines are exceptional as you would expect from Davys Wine Bars & Restaurants. There were 42 of us booked in for a reunion lunch, which you would expect to cause the odd problem with serving etc. No need to worry. The staff are exceptional, and serving 20 odd steaks perfectly cooked is no mean feet! Every single one of us had the most fantastic afternoon, and we could not thank the owner and staff enough. A definite 5 stars!

    This is one of my favourite places in London! I had my birthday party there in early December and it was perfect - the team was brilliant- especially Aaron who was so friendly and helpful. The choice and quality of the wines on offer is also fantastic! Highly recommended!

    Empty of people and empty of soul. It was unpleasant. It was cold. Only one staff serving at a time - another was moving furniture and one more was directing the moving of furniture. More people arrived by the time we left and the one staff was left to serve everyone. First choice meal wasn’t in stock (whatever that means!!). Portions were small. Food was without flavour. Desserts were also not nice and came without the ice cream that was written on the menu. Not recommended

    Came here after work to chill out and grab some food. The staff are super friendly and chatty, and food was really tasty. If you’re in the area or planning to be soon, I would highly recommend truckles as a place to meet friends, such a nice atmosphere :)
