Would pick this place over the barley mow pub any day of the week. And its only round the corner from the barley mow. Been coming here for a number of years and has always been good to me and family. DEFINATLY BEST IN AREA. Avoid barley mow pub though. Watermans 👍🏻

We had my mothers wake there yesterday for 2 reasons. Mum used to have parties there as we were growing up and now my old school friends run this pub. The food was fantastic, plentiful and very well presented. Everyone complimented on the quality and the amount and to top it all, a very good price. I would definitely book there again for future parties...hopefully not another wake.

Rooms are cosy actual owners is a nosey parker who needs to learn to not interfere. Twice he gave his opinion and advised that we stayed in his pub instead of going out, he wanted to know where we were going. Also tried to charge us again for our stay, no security so anyone can go upstairs and walls are paper thin. Avoid at all costs if you want to have a nice break away.

I stayed here several nights whilst my mum was in Princess Alice hospice (which is easy to get to via bus or walking). The landlord, lady (and rest of staff) were really nice and helpful. Rooms are basic but clean, functional and very good value for money in this area. Food (evening meal included in room rate whilst I was there) was also really good.

1st time in 65 years. It was very nice. Staff are polite and the venue is very clean. Thank you for an enjoyable evening.
