About Prince of Wales
Pub with a menu of traditional British dishes & a family-friendly vibe.
Food oriented pub, part of Greene King’s Crafted Pubs brand, which also welcomes drinkers. Built in 1892, the pub recently underwent an extensive refurbishment, bringing back some of its original character but with some contemporary décor and cosy furniture, There is a large leafy garden at the rear and an extensive indoor conservatory area for dining. The location is opposite the large villate green and duck pond and there are good woodland and waterside walks nearby. William Limbricks Victorian Tower brewery still stands next door.

My first visit, and a great one at that. The welcome was warm, myself and a friend were given a whole host of options for where we’d like to sit, and were promptly served thereafter. Drinks came fast, along with our food, pictured above. Ella was our host and she was friendly throughout. I’ll be back for another visit within a couple of weeks no doubt; despite the 30 minute drive, it is well worth it.

This pub is fabulous! We celebrated our wedding here. We enjoyed a wonderful meal with close friends and family. Ellie was brilliant at helping me organise it and the staff on the day were so friendly and helpful. The food at this pub is incredible. We’ve also been for breakfast a few times and it is amazing! Perfect location for the summer and winter seasons. Love the decor at this pub. Lots of parking. Highly recommend! Thank you to the team here for your great service! See you soon!

Great food, lovely service (thanks Fiona!) and a really pleasant atmosphere is what the recent renovations have given us at the Prince of Wales. We went for Sunday roast which was excellent and a good portion size too. We sat in the orangery which generously proportioned and benefits from lots of natural light. I'm looking forward to going back and trying the garden when it gets warmer!

We were invited to join the lucky winners of a meal for 6 at The Prince of Wales today. We've not visited for about 10 years, and were very impressed by the recent refurbishment. The decor was modern and high quality, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the service was excellent. We enjoyed a selection of the stix to start, followed by steaks and lamb, with desserts, cheese board, and coffee to finish. A very generous prize that was much appreciated by us all. Recommended.

Such a shame! Lovely venue and the staff were excellent but the food was awful. Friend had chicken noodles. Packet noodles and tiny bit of chicken, other friend has tapas four small prawns and couple of bits of chicken. I had steak which was so tough and fatty (and I usually like the fat) but this was awful, 3 liquor coffees all cold. Such a shame as like I say staff and venue was lovely. Photo shows how much fat was on the steak!
