About Wheatsheaf
Buzzy pub with real ales and Modern British dishes served from a VW campervan on the terrace.
Located in the very heart of Borough Market and now operated by Young's. Used to be a basic Courage market pub with a partitioned off island bar which in later years had a couple of good guest beers on. Used to be known as L42 Club (signal above pub). Upper floors were removed to accommodate the new railway viaduct which runs immediately overhead. Re-opened December 2012 after several years of closure for the railway works above. Transformed into a more upmarket venue in line with the gentrification of Borough Market clientele. Has a semi-outdoor "garden" area next door using what had been a derelict building for many years - partly open to the elements and has wall heaters for cold weather. A totally walk round island bar remains, equipped with 7 handpumps in banks or 3, 3 and 2.

Good location at the back of the market. London prices obviously. Liked the the Yard area and freshly made pizzas there. Bar Staff polite and attentive apart from the manager who is quite rude and struggling with a busy day. Clearly lacking in customer service!

Possibly one of the best burgers I've ever eaten! Slow cooked ox cheek burger! Mouthwatering 🤤 great venue, "the yard" is a nice tucked away (practically indoor) outdoor space, with a good atmosphere 😀

We had ordered 6 burgers for our group. 2 burgers came an hour l before the others. One of the first 2 was a chicken burger, which was served to us raw. When I showed the manager the raw chicken burger, he didn’t seem to be too bothered. He didn’t offer a refund or anything. After speaking to staff a few times I finally got a refund. One staff member was helpful and offered us a few free drinks. The manager seemed to not care and seemed to be annoyed when asking him when the other burgers were going to arrive. Definitely not coming back to eat here again.

Located in Burroughs Market, this fine pub provides great service and fine cocktails when you need a break from exploring the great market place.

Great busy pub opposite to borough market. Fun atmosphere and very quick service. Came on a Saturday and it was absolutely packed, but we still got served very quickly. The blonde guy with the posh accent (sorry don’t remember his name) was really kind and as soon as a table became available called us as we wanted to order some food. Burger and pizzas were delicious. Will comeback
