About Wheatsheaf

High-ceilinged, red-brick pub with a laid-back vibe serving real ales and creative British cuisine.

A spacious, late Victorian pub on a prominent corner site at Tooting Bec crossroads.

Only two cask beers are now served (April 2022) but both are ales from small local breweries.

The interior features exposed brickwork, and large pillars and arches, with a back room used as a restaurant. Seats have been added to the roadside exterior.

The pub was acquired by Antic in 2010, with a welcome reinstatement of real ale after many years' absence. Following fears in 2013 that the pub might be sold for its development value, a local campaign resulted not only in ACV registration but also in Article 4 Directions by Wandsworth Borough Council. Urban Pubs & Bars took over the lease in 2015 and undertook a major refurbishment. Look out for the many black-and-white photographs of old Tooting. The upstairs function space hosts live music and comedy plus yoga sessions. Dog-friendly.

My husband and I have lived in Tooting for about 6 years and this is one of our favourite local pubs. Lovely interior, great food and atmosphere, good selection of beers on tap and wine, and staff are always friendly. More recently, our antenatal classes were also hosted at the pub which was very convenient. The food is slightly more expensive than other pubs but worth it - highly rate the Sunday roast & cauliflower cheese, and the fish & chips.

We had a great Christmas lunch, wonderful food and great service. Ask for Jack, the manager. He loves to have feedback from the Customers. We'll be back soon!

In a crowded market of chain pubs and soulless beer gardens, the Wheatsheaf in Tooting is an absolute breath of fresh air. Since moving to the area the pub has become my local, fitting of a plethora of social gatherings and providers of some proper tasty locally sourced grub and good beer (the cocktails aren't bad too!). The Wheatsheaf has given us great times on many occasion, whether that be catching a friend in town, sampling the best Sunday Roast I've had this side of the river or getting swept up in the euphoria of the European championships. The quiz and open mic's are also worthy of…
