About Andover Arms

Ales and European menu, plus live jazz nights in a Victorian neighbourhood pub with a real fire.

This 1853 backstreet local is situated in the centre of the (estate agents') "Brackenbury Village", adding to its rural feel. Acquired by Fuller's from Watney's in 1991, the pub has undergone limited changes since, including combining the bars into one room, opening up the kitchen and extending into the former yard at the rear.

Entering through the middle door, the attractive wood-panelled bar counter, furnished with bar stools and a gantry, complete with snob screens, and an elaborate back bar are directly in front of you, whilst the main seating, with an eclectic assortment of dining tables and chairs, extends on the left to the rear, with piano and fireplace (with a real fire in cold weather) as well as to the right past the open-plan kitchen.

A frequent entry in the Good Beer Guide, this is a popular local with a devoted regular clientele supplemented by visitors drawn to the pub by its reputation for well-kept cask ale and good food. Note that the pub is closed on Mondays and until 5pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

One of my favorite pub meals in London. The food is ALWAYS exceptional and a great wine list as well.

A cozy, authentic pub with beautiful surroundings and friendly people. The atmosphere feels warm and welcoming, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy some local charm. The staff is kind, and the overall experience leaves you wanting to return.

Delicious! Came here for a roast! I had the chicken and we ordered some cauliflower cheese on the side. Everything was fresh, hot and tasty! Could have had a couple more potatoes but that just the greed speaking! The bread sauce was bland, that is the only criticism. Probably one of the best pub roasts I've had! Also lovely pub and nice staff! Would definitely come back.

We have had some good food and great service here before but the service last night was really poor and the menu choices were really limited. I ended up having the vegetarian option which was abysmal. Basically a tin of white beans and a bit of kale. I appreciate it’s not a vegetarian restaurant but this was so lacking in imagination. Really disappointing. They’d be better to offer proper pub food rather than octopus, oxtail and steak tartare. Just fish and chips and a roast would be fine.

Really lovely local pub! Have been a couple times since moving into the area and love it. The service is really great and friendly, the food is very high standard, and the atmosphere is like getting a warm hug from someone you love. A little expensive but you can’t fault the quality of this pub!
