About Bird & Barrel

This micropub opened on 13/04/2018. Close to Barnehurst station, formerly a tropical fish emporium. Owned by Cliff and Jane of Bexley Brewery, so effectively a Brewery Tap. A small one-roomer plus covered secluded micro beer garden at the back. Three handpumps on the bar counter and four keg beer taps. Wines and spirits also sold here. Indoor seating is at a handful of standard height tables. Usually offers one ale from around the UK. The other two are their own Bexley Brewery beers. Table service.

Last orders are 30 minutes before closing time.

    Had a very pleasant evening there yesterday, as always a good selection a great drinks on offer. I finished off with 2 pints of The Big 10 their 10th anniversary table beer . Coming in at 3.1% (which I couldn't believe as it was so good) !! 🍻

    Lovely friendly pub. Nice atmosphere and everyone is chatty. We visited one evening with some friends who are locals and regulars. Unfortunately I had an accident with my drink and Jane and Becky were so helpful and went out of their way to help me out and even lent me a hair dryer. Thank you

    Our second of hopefully many more visits. The service was great by very friendly staff. We sat in the beautiful courtyard garden where we were treated to table service. The beer was very good.

    Bexley is effectively beer heaven and the Bird and barrel may be the jewel in the crown. Beautifully kept and wholesome beers, outstanding service from Paul and the propietors was well worth the trip from the other side of the pond. Add it to your bucket list!

    I love this pub. Firstly it has local beer. Secondly the guest kegs they have are generally awesome and rotate nicely each week. I drink in or get takeaway to have at home; there’s always something good there. It has a nice outdoor seating area for the warmer weather. There’s nothing not to like.
