About Bull & Last

Gastropub next to Hampstead Heath with wood-panel walls and stuffed animals, serving British menu.

Reopened on 25/02/20 after a long period of closure for an extensive refurbishment and now has 7 letting bedrooms. In Oct 2023 only one cask beer was available which rotates monthly or bi monthly depending on popularity - Five Points Best today. On the keg, they have the So Solid Brew from Five Points, especially made for the pub.

We have secured planning permission to add six bed and breakfast rooms to the top floor of the building. This project has been in the works for a very long time and we can't wait to finally get stuck in, building the next chapter in our journey."

Recently visited the Bull and Last for the first time for a Sunday Roast. We had 4 courses and all the food was really tasty. They were very accommodating for vegetarian requests also. The service was fantastic; very attentive and friendly. They couldn't do enough for us. Would highly recommend!

Nice location- near Gospel Oak train station. Visited a friend and we decided to have a dinner here (partly as they were quite booked up till the evening on Sunday! so may want to plan to make a reservation a day or two earlier). The pub is also a boutique hotel so there seemed to be folks coming and going through the bar area. The food was pretty good, nice cozy setting inside. I'd say a mix of upmarket/contemporary design especially towards the bar with a nod to the past around the fireplace and bull heads around the upper walls. The patrons were more gentrified compared with other pubs we…

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for about six days in August and although we loved the staff, there were issues with the rooms I think people should know. Be aware of which room you book and try to book one that is on the larger side. It’s worth it. Especially if you’re a couple or one is really tall. Also, there are no closets or drawers to put clothes away. So if you like to do that, be aware that there is very little space in the rooms. The location is amazing and the staff are absolutely wonderful. We’d come back, but I’d be sure to book the largest room. Also, eat at the pub. So…

Sunday lunch looked amazing and general taste was nice but beef rib we had was really fatty and I got hardly any meat. Hugely disappointed considering the eye watering price (£85 for 2). I’d expected it to be amazing which it wasn’t. Wish I’d gone for the sirloin which had several substantial slices of beef. Gravy very nice but not enough of it. You had to pay £4 for extra. But cauliflower cheese very good. Sadly left still feeling hungry and a bit let down.

I had an amazing stay at the Bull and Last. The rooms were nice and clean, and the hotel's location is fantastic. It's in a great, fancy area with lots of restaurants and cafes. Transportation is easily accessible and walkable, with buses nearby. The hotel has a pub and restaurant, and the food is delicious. I tried the Sunday roast and breakfast, and both were excellent. Joe, Nake, Lukas, and Anna were incredibly kind and helpful, answering all my questions. Coming from the US, I truly experienced the charm of a British pub and hotel stay. The decor and ambiance were lovely.
