About Bull
Virtually at the summit of Shooters Hill, a reputedly haunted pub dating from 1749 (though it was rebuilt in 1881). Recently given a significant makeover with loss of some of the old internal fittings and the décor is grey pastel throughout. It consists of 2 quite separate bars (unusual these days) being a public and a saloon with separate street entrance doors and toilets in the saloon bar only. A circular bar counter provides a central servery to both bars. Three handpumps in the saloon bar and one in the public bar but cask ales always seem to be dispensed from the saloon bar. Well patronised electronic jukebox in public bar. Re-opened in May 2024 under new ownership.

A nice pub, very popular with locals. Very good condition indoors and to got sport. Great beer garden with a BBQ and pizza oven for food options. Very busy out the back with lots of kids running around. Service was very slow and a bit surly.

Delicious freshly cooked homemade food in a lovely quiet garden - perfect for a pint after a walk in the woods. Couldn’t believe how quiet it was in a lovely sunny day. This gem needs to be unhidden!

Katia’s quiz was excellent and she’ll be sorely missed there due to her being a fantastic individual. Winning the quiz was the cherry on top. The food in the garden btw… to die for. They didn’t have there own account on Google maps so leaving the praise here for them. I had a boneless lamb curry. Sublime.

Food looked amazing from the Turkish grill just inside the beer garden. The pub have new management and refurbishments have been done. Lovely huts in the garden with lots of space. Reasonable prices.

On a Sunday lunch time at 1pm it is a quiet pub that's sits on top of Shooters Hill. They have a good range of beers and wines and the staff were friendly and helpful. It has a lovely garden with plenty of tables, but it could do with a little weeding. You can hear the traffic on Shooters Hill Road if you try and listen, but it is barely noticeable. I didn't have any food, hence no rating for food. A good pub and well worth a visit.
