About Butcher's Tap & Grill

Closed for seven years, this 3,600sq ft, two-storey 1840-build pub site finally reopened in December 2023, the second to open under the Tom Kerridge Butcher’s Tap & Grill concept. This is his third London site and follows Kerridge's Bar & Grill at the Corinthia hotel in Whitehall, and Kerridge's Fish & Chips at Harrods' dining hall.

Following very substantial refurb work, the ground-floor pub features a focal hardwood bar, chestnut leather booth seating and a bespoke timber staircase. The restaurant area is downstairs with an open plan kitchen equipped with meat-ageing fridges.

The menu at Butcher's Tap & Grill Chelsea offers a selection of British-centric butcher-cuts, burgers, hot dogs and small bites, such as grass-fed beef rom HG Walter and Dovecote Farm and Longland Farm duck. The pub is open for lunch and dinner and serves a Sunday roast; as well as takeaway services. Kids eat free Monday - Thursday 3-5pm.

Kerridge has said: "We very much want to be a local's local, somewhere to pop in, have a pint, watch some sport have a bite and relax. We will also be dog friendly so well behaved four legged friends are very welcome too!"

There are three ale handpumps serving fairly low-ABV session beers at date of this entry. Further updates welcome.

🚇 Sloane Square 🍺 £7.50 Estrella The Butcher’s Tap & Grill is located in a quiet side street just off The Kings Road in Chelsea. The nearest Tube is Sloane Square, it’s a ten minute walk to get here. This place was formerly know as The Queens Head, built in 1840. Before closing seven years ago, this was a long standing Gay Pub that attracted a few celebs. The pub was extensively refurbished and opened by Tom Kerridge in December 2023. The Butcher ‘s Tap & Grill is marketed as a local pub but I couldn’t find many pub vibes which was a little disappointing. The decoration is well presented…

At first, I was skeptical about visiting The Butcher’s Tap and Grill Chelsea, especially considering the lower rating. However, I'm thrilled we decided to give it a try. What a pleasant surprise! We ordered the buttermilk fried chicken burger and Sunday roast, and both dishes were absolutely amazing. The flavors were on point, and the portions were generous. The staff was friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. It turned out to be a casual and enjoyable evening. Don't let the rating deter you – this place exceeded our expectations in every way. Highly recommend…

I loved the atmosphere here - super convenient and calm compared to always full pubs on King's road. Feels upscale and clean, nice outdoor and indoor seats. The food is also great for a meal, although I found the double bacon cheese burger quite messy to eat due to it's height. Otherwise, highly recommend this place!

I live in Chelsea a 5-minute walk away , so I was excited to visit Tom kerridge newly opened " The Butchers Tap and Grill "!!! Have to say i wasn't disappointed. Warm and friendly staff delivered a professional service!! Extensive knowledge of the menu and wine list!! My best friend and I are self-confessed foodies, and both agreed that our fillet steak was outstanding 👌🏾 and we highly recommend ordering the truffle and parmigiano chips !!

I agree as per a reviewer below, this should be rated much higher. Lovely looking pub, exterior and interior and had a great flower show out the front as part of the Chelsea Flower Show and won an award Service very good and both my wife and I had the lamb chops which were great. Cocktail and beer was also good after the waiter helped me in buying an IPA beer.
