  What a great experience we had!! Visiting from the US, I had no idea where to go with a bunch of coworkers for a happy hour and was told to check out The Candlemaker. Was absolutely thrilled with the recommendation. Booking our group event online was easy with Joanna & Olga being quick to answer any questions. Got to meet Chef Natalie that night - she was so friendly - her & her team really went out of their way to make everything perfect (honestly, the best fish & chips I had on my whole visit).   What a fantastic breakfast experience. The cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious food make it a standout spot. The smashed avocado, with perfectly cooked eggs, crispy bacon was superb. Highly recommended!

  This was my second experience at a Young's establishment as I'm currently staying at a hotel/pub that's also owned by them. Thankfully we had a better experience here at The Candlemaker. I ordered the lamb steak and it was lovely. Would also recommend the lamb mac and cheese. The service was much better here then at the Young's I've been to, more attentive. Overall, would recommend.

  Nicely located pub, warm & cosy. Service was good. However, we were surprised that steaks are either medium or well-done, i.e you cannot have it rare/medium rare. As a result, the burger was okay but the steak was so chewy that it was inedible. To conclude, it’s a fine place if you’re really hungry and need a meal but if you’re looking for an incredible steak experience, better save your money for somewhere else. Edit: we told our waitress about the steak and she deducted 10% from the overall bill, which we appreciated.

  Such a nice place! We came for drinks after work and managed to enjoy the sun outside! They actually have deck chairs (inside and out) and it felt so relaxed! Great spot and great service! Eventually we decided to grab a few bites so walked in to eat inside, it was delicious!
