About Sir John Hawkshaw
Wetherspoon pub opened on 10th February 2015. Named after one of the co-designers of the original station building which opened in 1866. Located on the station concourse alongside Platform 1 with a front veranda for outside drinking. Large windows allow patrons to view the bustle of a commuter mainline station. Low ceiling with contemporary décor and a mixture of high tables and stools and normal height seating. Open view kitchen and a viewing window into the same level cellar showing the real ale cask stillage and piping. The copper coloured counter top has 6 handpumps. Usually 3 of the 4 regular beers are sold except during ale festivals. The pub does not have toilets. You need to use the ones on the station concourse. Don’t miss your train – there is a screen in one corner showing real-time arrivals and departures. Pub will be closed if the station is.

Handy if you are waiting for a train but not much else. Unusually small Wetherspoons venue with very limited real ale selection (only two available on my last visit). Quite a few phone charging points around which some may find useful. Very hot in summer and very cold in winter!

Nice fresh bright airy pub adjacent to the railway platforms on the station. Due to the central location more expensive than most of the spoons I have visited previously. Nice coffee, friendly staff. Spoons #63 ticked off Oh, make sure you go to the toilet before you order, I didn’t and had to leave my table and order to go adjacent platform 7, fortunately all was ok upon my return.

Not the friendliest bar staff, but certainly not rude. I asked for a toilet and was pointed (literally) in the right direction by the curt male bartender. No problem to try before I bought from the more sociable female bartender. I guess the staff get pestered by folk fir toilets? No harm in putting a sign up stating TOILETS ACROSS THE PLATFORM. Would go back.

Great Wetherspoons with a unique twist, in that you can sit and watch the trains come and go from Cannon Street Terminus,as you enjoy your meal and drinks.

A small Wetherspoon situated within Cannon Street station. There is a small seating area 'outside' of the pub, which is still in the concourse of the station, so is presumably still non-smoking. There are a number of high seated tables in front of the bar and then a small area to one side with a few booths and lower tables. Traditional Wetherspoon menu at decent prices for London.
