About Civil Service Club
A range of elegant hospitality services from dining and a bar to a lounge and rooms for members.
Founded in 1953, originally for members of the Civil Service but now open to a wider public-organisation membership including the Metropolitan Police. There are restaurant, bar, accommodation and lounge facilities. A bar food menu is available all the time. In the restaurant, lunch is served Tuesday to Friday and dinner Tuesday to Saturday.
Cask ale on five handpumps is largely from the Greene King stable. The bar is open to members and their guests.

I've been here quite a few times now. It's a nice place, conveniently central, with a reasonable selection of beers and wines. It's a members only place, but if you are a member, or know one, I'd recommend it. If you are a civil servant, or an ex CS, especially one who finds themselves in Westminster a fair bit,I'd consider getting the membership.

The Civil Service Club is members only - or you can get in as a guest of a member, as I did. The food and drink prices seemed very reasonable, particularly given the neighbourhood, although I'm not sure how many visits you'd need to make the membership fee worth it. While I wouldn't seek this place out as a place to eat or drink (you have all of central London to explore, after all), it was a nice place to chill and enjoy a breather around a heated outdoor table. It was easy to forget we were just a couple of minutes' walk from the hustle of Trafalgar Square. That said, all the inside…

This is a great place for drinks and food in central London. My food was delicious and prices are reasonable. Returned 3 months later and a great food and service also.

Great meeting place for friends and colleagues. Perfect location 5mins walk from Charing Cross station. Great beer and food. Went here for a retirement do for a colleague. Will return.

Membership is reasonably affordable compared to a lot of other private members clubs. In return, you get a conveniently located bar and restaurant whose pricing is also quite reasonable. Service is friendly and efficient. Yes, it's not the fanciest place, but I like going there.
