About Crown

Local ales and pub grub in a bright, modernised bar hosting live music, comedy and quiz nights.

Situated on the edge of Blackheath Village and close to the open expanse of the Heath. Has origins as a 16th century coaching inn but today has a more modern, but tasteful, interior with a restaurant available upstairs called Charlie's Den or Kings Charles III Dining Room. Has a spacious outdoor seating area at the front. Holds regular live music and comedy sessions, plus there is a quiz night on Mondays. The semi-circular bar counter facing the front doors has 5 handpumps.

Closed for a while in early 2024 for a significant makeover, during which a piano was added for sing-alongs.

First time here and was not disappointed. Anchovies In tempura batter, very good. Fish and chips was excellent and the chicken pie was the best I have tasted in a long while. Dog friendly as well. Great decor. Will return.

The atmosphere is very good. It's a nice looking pub. We had the Sunday roast and it was terrible. We didn't drink our cocktail, we didn't finish our bland, low-quality roast, and the server girl was so stoned she couldn't focus her eyes and was talking to herself. Fortunately the head waiter was good and did everything he could, but there was only so much he could do..

My visit to this quaint little Blackheath pub, was a delightful experience. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I had their deal of £5 for a slice of cake and a cup of coffee. The lemon drizzle cake was moist, tangy and large. I would recommend this establishment.

Refurbished and newly under Shepherd Neame ownership. Updating my older review as have been back a few times and things have gotten better and better. Big shout out to Jan and the staff who hosted us for a wonderful extended family and friends Sunday Lunch yesterday. Their sharing roasts have to be seen to be believed.... simply amazing 👏 😍 Now I need to round up enough people to go again next week! 🤣

In UK, it's a blessing to enjoy chilled beer under the sunny hot day. So here we're enjoying a nice sunny afternoon to sit in the garden and watch the world passing by. Will definitely come back, btw good selection of beers and cool service.
