About Dog House
Sizeable corner pub with dark wood decor and front terrace tables, for draught beers and pub grub.
Quirky twin bar pub situated in a prominent position in Kennington and handy for those visiting the Oval cricket ground. Plenty of outdoor seating available at the front. As it says of itself, not a sports pub but does love sport. Food is a mixture of British classics and modern bistro fare. It positively encourages dogs (and their owners) to visit.

Me and my husband had a quick lunch today here, and it was really amazing! We have ordered chicken as a starter, burgers as a main and toffee pudding as dessert. All was really tasty. The open kitchen makes is a big plus! We want to say thanks to Freja and her amazing service like at the high end restaurant and Kimon for being welcoming host!

This is a beautiful rustic building... I love the way it welcomes you in with comfy sofas... Huge covered seating area outside... Tastefully lit but not overpowering... Nathen (landlord) has been very accommodating each time I've visited and the lady behind the bar (sorry didn't catch your name 🤗) was immensely helpful today guiding my daughter from Waterloo station to kennington. The Dog House has an upstairs seating and eating area, where you could easily eat / Drink and relax with friends, For all you students why not grab some drinks and spend time finishing some study work away from…

Been here a few times for Sunday roast. You can't go wrong for the price. The building is quirky and dog friendly throughout. Food is good value and even has discounted food for seniors. Unfortunately I was unable to cut through my pork belly so left it. My partners beef was fine. Service could be better. Stood at the bar to check in for our table for 10 minutes. No one acknowledged we were there. A quick 'hello will be with you shortly' goes a long way.

There are lots of good things about The Dog House. It’s a nice building, the beer was tasty and you can sit outside and watch the world go by. I’m only marking this down as when our food arrived yesterday, there was no salad on the burgers because they’d run out (at 2pm). They had coleslaw, so it seemed reasonable to ask for a bit of that instead of the salad. No. Management had to be consulted, and they said no. The woman who served us agreed that it was pretty unreasonable, but wasn’t able to do any more.

Pub and bar staff are lovely but manager was very rude. Booted me and friends from the pub prior to the euro final for eating a bag of crisps and a having a beer outside from the adjacent shop whilst the bar was closed. Made us bin our beers under threat of getting barred and then once we'd binned them he kicked us out anyway. Never leave reviews but this one irked us as a group! No shade to the pub itself but the manager ruined completely it!
