I had my birthday lunch here on a Sunday at 3pm. I wanted a really good roast and good atmosphere and this pub exceeded my expectations. The food was outstanding, I was blown away. I had roast beef. Meat was cooked to perfection, delicious potatoes, veg and the Yorkshire puddings were on point. Not only fantastic food but the service from start to finish was incredible. I went in person to book, they were accomodating, helped me choose a nice table. When we arrived on the day, the table was already laid and looked beautiful. We had a drink outside while we looked over the menu, then went…

Normally, Lovely food & drinks, friendly staff with good atmosphere. We visit here fairly often and these things have been consistent. However this evening service was so slow (we were sat in the busy garden area) we couldn't rely on table service and went to buy drinks at the bar. The food was poor quality, not so tasty. Its apparently due to change of management. We will definitely give these guys a chance again and hope service & food quality return to prior levels. Hopefully they will be successful.

It started off really well at the Duchy Arms. We arrived at 1, got drinks, sat down and ordered food. The food arrived promptly, and looked good when it did. We finished our meals and asked if we could take the leftovers home with us - this caused some puzzled looks. The manager then came over, also confused, and we said again that we'd like to take the leftovers away with us. The original waiter then comes back and asks a third time what we wanted, and then informs us that it was too late, as they had thrown it away. This was followed by the manager then telling off a member of staff on the…

Under new management; sadly doesn’t seem to be a good change. Food now poor generic pub quality (used to be higher quality ingredients used). Service chaotic (however understandable with a new team). Unacceptable to serve “Tesco Finest” branded wines however at over a 200% markup. Atmosphere is gone. Sadly time to find a new regular local pub.

Nice local pub with great ambience and well- priced beer. Pub is under new management and they are clearly doing a great job! Very welcoming staff makes this a great place to hang out with friends and family.
