About Duke of Sussex
Spacious gastropub with dark wood tables, decorative skylight, arched window and a beer garden.
Excellent example of an old Truman, Hanbury and Buxton pub, the exterior is a wonderful example of the style of that time. Picnic tables outside opposite Millennium Green give a place to sit in the open air. Close to Waterloo stations. Refurbished in 2016 and reopened under the management of Hippo Inns. The rear bar is now connected to the larger front bar and set up for serving food. There are now four handpumps in the front bar with some local beers available as well as national ones. There is a function room upstairs.

Recommended by Kevin @ParkPlaza and so glad we walked over to enjoy this Pub. This experience will be the high bar. We had Black Pudding Pork Scottish Eggs w/sauce followed by Bangers & Mash for me and Chicken Pie for my DW who also tried a Camden Hells lager.

Had a roast dinner here and on the whole it was good. The chicken was a bit dry and needed much more gravy, Yorkshire was a bit too cooked for my liking too. Slightly small portion of cauliflower cheese for £7 but still nice - on the whole a solid roast but could be much better with some minor improvements.

What a lovely pub! I'm visiting from Australia and a local friend brought me here. The food was excellent and I certainly can't fault the service as it was very friendly particularly the girl from Canada and the girl from Liverpool who both had great senses of humour and genuinely cared that we had a good experience. Will be back!

Service is a bit slow from waiters taking orders to food being derved. However, the food was delicious, fresh, and worth the money. Sunday roast is definitely a win here!!

Booked a table for 6 on Sunday for a birthday celebration. Away from the sports screen and madness. They let me bring in a cake and light the candle for no additional cost. Food was nice, above average. Scotch egg was a miss. Fish croquettes were👌 The place wasn’t packed and they let us stay well over the original 2 hour window which was nice.
