About Exmouth Arms
Modern hostel offering free Wi-Fi, breakfast and walking tours, plus a 24-hour bar.
This is a pleasant, airy corner pub with large picture windows and comfortable seating (booths by the windows, high tables and benches) around a large L-shaped bar fronted by mosaic tiles with an open food servery, offering burgers and diner tapas from Burger Craft. Four changing ales including some from London Breweries at last survey. There is also a large selection of keg beers on tap - eight of which seven were from London's breweries.
Opens from 10am for breakfast. Pub quiz Tuesday evenings. The former function room is now operated as "boutique hostel" which is a standard feature for operator PubLove.
The pub is named after Edward Pellew the first Lord Exmouth and the street after the village of Starcross just across the estuary from Exmouth in Devon. He masterminded the great victory against piracy at the battle of Algiers, Pellew was truly one of our foremost naval heroes and is buried at Christow in Devon.

The room is very small for 9 people (I think it's around 14m^2). Also, the window can only be opened slightly, making it super suffocating. The bed size is very small for a standard person. I'd recommend the hostel renovate their room so that there's better ventilation in the room such that allowing windows to be opened more for fresh air to come in. The reception is open 24/7, which is a plus, but breakfast isn't served till 8.15am, so I have to find a place elsewhere to eat. Location is super convenient, but apart from that, I wouldn't recommend staying here if you need a comfortable…

The room was unbearably hot. Beer was decent, daytime staff were pleasant. I tried to order pizzas late at night. the guy working said only if we didn’t make a mess outside. I mentioned that if you’re getting paid to provide service, isn’t cleaning up part of that? He then told me the kitchen is closed and denied me the 2 pizzas I ordered. I was willing to pay and would have offered him a decent tip but, he wasn’t having any of it. Extremely lousy service from the evening worker. Doubt I’ll ever return. Very disappointing.

If you are planning a very low budget trip this place is for you. Only you should know that both women and men use same bathroom and toilets. There isn’t enough plugs in rooms. I stayed in 6 bed female room last week. Girls were ok, everyone was respectful to each other. I only drink tea at the pub and it was good.

The concept is great. Dorms above a pub and the pub is open 24 hours for residents. There is a wide ranging menu and the service was good. There are 6 beds in each room. The main problem was that the room was really hot and although there was a large fan in the room there were window restrictors which meant the windows only opened a really tiny bit and thus the air did not circulate and had to prop open door with a shoe. No doubt the window restrictors are regulations relating to health and safety. Very well situated for Euston Station.

The Hostel had everything you need for a short stay and it was rather clean. It is very central which was amazing and the service was very good. Everyone is incredibly polite and especially Ali was a big help :)
