About Faltering Fullback

Rambling pub with bric-a-brac and vintage posters, plus spacious beer garden and menu of Thai food.

Locals' pub that's always busy. Three small seating areas with two clustered around the bar and one to the side more like a private room with a friendly atmosphere enhanced by careful use of lighting. The side bar leads into a larger back room with picnic tables, pool table and a Thai kitchen at rear. Food serving times are not known to us - website gives no details.

When you step out into the back you enter what at first seems like a small, ground floor walled garden but this quickly opens up to a series of higher level decking linked by stairs which probably doubles the overall area of the pub. Smoking permitted outside. It is hard to do justice in words so go to the pub's website which offers a virtual tour.

The flowers are truly a tour de force both at the front of the pub and in the garden. in keeping with its name TV screens show football and rugby. The handpumps in the back bar are quite old but only those in the front seem to be used. Retains some old Courage insignia on the exterior.

Visited today just to see THAT beer garden and let me tell you, I've never seen something like that before. I would spend whole days there, enjoying weather, food and good chat. So many nooks and crannies, don't know how it looks like when game is played. They have massive area on the back with few TV's if you enjoy sports, or live music. Service was super fast, but I visited early afternoon, was one of the first customers. Main area is super cosy, feels old in the best way possible. Good selections of beers on tap, they have 0% as well. Can't described how impressed I'm with this…

Tucked around the back of Finsbury Park the FF is a real Finsbury Park institution. This was my first visit and on this evidence I will definitely look to come back. The place is massive with several floors and multiple outdoor terraces. As it was such a nice day they were unfortunately all full so we sat inside. Busy and buzzing and plenty of screens if you want to watch the sport. Good selection of ales too.

Lovely beer garden and vibes. Food was ok but not wow for Thai which is why the 3 stars.

Went there to watch the football, lovely pub with nice decorations and plenty of seating. They have a main room with two large TVs to watch the games. The staff were friendly, service was speedy, and the drinks were average London price. Definitely the best pub in Finsbury Park.

Had only ever come here for drinks but after hearing so many good things about the food here, I had to try it! It was surprisingly good and the portions were great too. We ordered the prawn pad Thai (a good benchmark), and green curry. Both were really scrumptious but I have to say, the curry was my favourite!!! It was super creamy and had a really nice kick to it.
