About Gipsy Queen

Renovated Victorian pub now housing a funky craft beer venue serving eclectic cuisine.

Re-opened on 29 June 2015 after a period of closure and is now under the management of the same people who run the Victoria Stakes which is located at the foot of Muswell Hill and Alexandra Palace. Considerable effort has been made successfully to transform the pub and enage with its customers - well worth a visit.

LocAles can be from East London Brewing, Hammerton, or Southwark. There is a take-away bottle/jug shop service and a large selection of keg beers which can also change on a rotation basis. The garden at the rear comes with booth seating and is heated and also has a big TV screen

From their website:

"the Kitchen rotates its residencies through the year. Every 4 months, a new group of fantastic chefs come in and cook up cuisines from all over the world, some of which have included Mexican, Japanese, and Turkish."

"live Music every Friday, to our famous Quiz Night each Sunday (featuring a unique speed-quizzing format) and followed by a Music Bingo session, to Comedy nights during the month! In the past we’ve had Game of Thrones showings, Beer Pong Championships and Super Bowl showings."

A perennial favourite and excellent local with terrific staff. Rotating guest kitchen with some legendary good eats, and consistently great Sunday roast. One of the best craft beer selections in the area which changes frequently. Indoor and outdoor seating, and a real fireplace for those chilly evenings. Feels like a best kept secret whenever I go.

I love coming for the Sunday pub quiz. The community of regulars are super welcoming and encouraging. The quiz master, Owen, is funny and keeps the crowd engaged throughout. There’s a great selection of beers, wines, and cocktails. The dinner menu rotates but is delicious every time I eat here. The desserts are decadent and the perfect sweet treat to cap off a weekend. Pub staff are friendly and provide great recommendations when you’re feeling indecisive. A good time all around :)

Had a Sunday roast which was very tasty. We had the pork and beef. Both tasty, would recommend the beef more. The yorskhires and potatoes were great. And the pub itself is lovely.

We hired the upstairs room for a 40th celebration which was the perfect setting and size. Shalimar, Reuben and the team were very helpful and accommodating both in the planning stage and on the night. The canapes were tasty and well sized, the drinks and cocktails were great. Thank you for a memorable night !

We had our daughter’s wedding reception here last Saturday and there were over 100 of us. The service was fantastic - there were many staff on duty and every single one was friendly, attentive to our needs and couldn’t do enough for us. The food was superb, there was plenty of it, and with vegan and vegetarian options, all our diets were catered for. The range of drinks available was extensive. We were blessed with good weather and made a lot of use of the garden area. There is so much room available inside and out, that nowhere ever felt cramped. A lot of planning had gone into this event…
