About Great Southern
Large premises in an imposing building from the mid 1800s. Now knocked into a large single room and updated to be more food centric. There are usually one real ale and one or two non-real ciders on handpump.

We’re local and have been meaning to come for lunch for a while. Today we did and we’re SO glad we did!! Super friendly guy on the phone to book with, lovely refurb inside, great mix of people (locals, footy fans and families) and very good food. We both had the roast and the toddler had a roast too! Great value. We’ll definitely be back!!

Extremely satisfied with my recent trip to the The Great Southern we and my partner ordered a chicken burger along with the dirty fries. A good burger is hard to come by these days but the bun was lightly toasted and the patty was well seasoned and crispy. A good amount of topping and sauce. Dirty fries were nice and not over powered by the topping which many places tend to do. We also ordered a sticky toffee pudding and apple and blackcurrant crumble which were both excellent. I would recommend the sticky toffee out of the two. Will definitely be coming back !

Came here for a Sunday roast after seeing the good reviews, I can confirm that it is one of the best I've had with everything cooked perfectly and packed full of flavour. Well done to the chef. The rest of the staff were great too.

Really good service, the manager is so lovely, food was nice (although I wasn't hot on the wings as they were a bit fatty). Portions were a good size too. Had to order online but the system to do this is extremely long winded. All in all though had a good experience. The burger was to die for! I'd recommend that every time.

Actually this is one of the pubs that have always wanted to go to in London I'm glad I came to it on this day it was not too busy at all all and a food was on point I thought although my friend thought his tofu in the salad tasted too much like meat and was dry, I personally for that it was crispy because they tried to imitate the crispy duck, We gave our personal suggestions to to the staff who will pass it on to the chef and see what happens in the future. Happy to come again.
