I loved the location, as it is quite close to a bus station and lots of buses come and go frequently from stops within 2-4 minutes walk. The hotel has a quaint, rustic look, and the cobbled stone walkway from the road to the entrance adds to the charm of Westow House. After walking in, there was no sign to indicate that the check-in desk was in the pub on the ground floor, so we followed the signs to the rooms upstairs, thinking the hotel reception might be upstairs. A friendly staff member came to redirect us to the check-in desk, which was just by the bar. Check-in was a breeze, and we…

We booked a table for early morning breakfast, and it was very good. The staff were also friendly and attentive. We enjoyed English breakfast, however, the salmon on the smoked salmon toast was not smoked very well so I did not like and eat it.

Good Sunday roast, big portions yet not enough veggies. The pork crackling was not there so my suggestion would be to remove it from the menu to avoid disappointment. The chicken portion was gigantic. They also offer child portions, just have to ask. The service was good especially considering how busy it was. Otherwise a really nice atmosphere, clean and tidy. would recommend it.

Perfect location for a wedding attended close by. Comfortable bed, clean and well furnished bathroom, and most importantly the breakfast was excellent. Had the Full Monty with freshly made coffee which did the business after a late night!

The meals were very good but the service while friendly and polite was disjointed. I think they got a bit confused when we said we wanted one of the starters to come out at the same time as the main meal. Also I was initially given another table's bill but this was resolved with no fuss. The pub was not that busy so I'm not sure what it would be like if I had booked at a peak time.
