About Greencoat Boy

Traditional, tourist-friendly pub with a British menu, ground floor lounge and 2nd bar downstairs.

Rebuilt in 1881, this corner pub commemorates the Green Coat Hospital for the relief of fatherless children established in 1633 by Charles I. Below the warm decor of the ground floor bar is a cellar bar, usually closed but available for functions. The managers were strangely unwilling to regale the guide surveyors with any attractive features to report besides the usual TV sports.

The licence permits sale of alcohol from opening time.

A decent London boozer that is well worth a visit. We stopped off there on our way to the London Aquarium on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too busy so we were able to get a good seat. There was a nice relaxed atmosphere, the staff were very professional and our food and drinks were brought to us in good time and everything tasted great. The prices were pretty good to as we were able to take advantage of a beer and a burger offer. I would recommend this pub and would definitely visit again if I were in the area.

I was in London last year and wanted to experience a queer friendly pub and was not let down at all by the Greencoat Boy. The staff was very welcoming right from when I entered. I got a great recommendation for a pint to try while I waited for my my food. The food was delicious and gave me the authentic British Pub food I wanted to experience. The server also helped me decide which show I should attend that night. On recommendation of the server I choice Wicked and I was not disappointed. Thank you to the staff at the Greencoat Boy.

Ordered 5 small plates between 2 people for dinner. Food was excellent and we did not expect it from a pub. Excellent service also. Skip the Albert (we were there before coming here) and come here instead.

Popped in here with a group of 6 of us. All the staff was super friendly and the service was fast. Highly recommend the mulled wine. The fish and chips were fantastic! The grilled lemon just put them over the edge. The inside is decorated so cute with so many string lights and plants. Creates a cozy environment.

We found this little gem of a pub on a walk from Buckingham Palace to Victoria. It is tucked away but a really lovely pub to stop for a drink and the food looked great but we were already eating out that day! The staff are really friendly and a great selection of drinks. If you see this pub don’t pass it by! It’s a lovely place to sit and have a drink inside or outside. Will definitely be adding this to our places to visit again.
