About Grafton Arms

Classic pub with a dark-wood interior and an upstairs room that played host to The Goons.

This is a welcoming street-market sports pub, offering a value-for-money menu. Built as the Kings Arms in 1850, it was owned for many years by the Grafton family. Jimmy Grafton wrote Goon Show scripts upstairs for the BBC with Michael Bentine and Spike Milligan, who once served behind the bar. The Goons are commemorated by the plaque outside the pub (see our photo) plus various photos and a cartoon mural inside the pub.

Stumbled across this place on our first day in London. God the food is so good , I had the 14 day old steak , steak was cooked perfectly , tender and juicy , the sauce ( beef dripping ) was so savoury and just bomb Then came the dessert - sticky toffee pudding , served warm around a ring of custard , the pudding , soft to touch is divine. Sweet and so so sinful The service - the staff came to check on us constantly and made us feel so welcomed , they were very thorough with checking our food allergies , and making sure the food we ordered was safe for us Definitely will come back here…

We loved the food and the atmosphere! Also the facilities were very clean and smelling fresh which is always a nice thing that doesn’t happen often in pubs. We will definitely come back.

Even the Sahara desert isn’t that dry as the burger in Grafton Arms 😐 The patty was overcooked and completely dry, it even crumbled to pieces. There was no sauce in the burger so it was really hard to eat it. Fish and chips, the fish was alright but the fries were completely cold.

The place and the feeling, vibe was absolutely perfect. All the staff members are the kindest on the planet. Love this pub Also to mention, the food and beers were tasteful and beautiful looking.

Very nice place, it was the first pub we went to upon landing in London and I was not disappointed. I got the fish and chips, my girlfriend got the three entrees for 17 pound, and all of it was really great. Plus they had a fine selection of beers to choose from. The atmosphere and people I ran into there were very friendly as well, great spot.
