About Grove

Pub, bar and dining room revamped in high Victorian style, with an International brasserie menu.

Large Victorian corner pub retaining separate drinking areas despite the complete refurbishment that sadly saw a popular public bar knocked through. Clean, tasteful, relaxed and quiet, a stylish but not trendy pub for everyone including families and especially diners. Restaurant meals all day until 10.30. Board games but no darts, fortnightly Sunday quiz. Pavement seating.

The refurb is AMAZING, such a nice pub but new staff are on a learning curve to get to grips with the new set up. Food was not quite as good as our previous visit at lunchtime, warm not hot & part of the steak a little chewy. Staff are super friendly and make a nice atmosphere but no one checked on us after the meals were served to see how they were & an occasion with no one behind the bar with multiple people waiting to be served. I’m sure in a couple of weeks staff will be up to speed & the service will reach the same level as the refurb.

The Grove supposedly went through a big refurb, but it’s hard to believe any improvements have been made after a horrible lunch we had there today. The service was alright (not surprising as we were the only table eating) but the food was abysmal. Not only were we told AFTER ordering that there was no beef, chicken or fish (in various forms) but what was left on the menu was dry, bland and measly. Not one person of five finished their food. We couldn’t wait to leave.

Absolutely gorgeous make over of this local so with beautiful interior design. New chef who has transformed the menu. What's made it really special is the lovely new team who completely on it. This is going to be such a nice cosy place as we head into darker nights.

I thoroughly devoured my Sunday roast! Staff were very inviting and couldn’t do enough for me. I plan to stop by once more during my visit. Thanks again!

The pub looks great and the atmosphere was welcoming, the food was delicious and the staff were friendly, kind and very attentive.
