  Applied for a part time position and this pub the outcome of which was the offer a three hour trial shift which I completed. Great feedback was given at the end of the shift with a promise that they would be in touch regarding next steps. They never got in touch even after several follow ups from myself via email. Disappointing they were happy to take three hours of unpaid work from me for absolutely nothing in return.

  Hagen and Hyde remains my favourite pub in Balham. The drinks prices and the garden are unmatched. Special shoutout to Belle who is always so welcoming and provides exceptional service. As for the pub itself - definitely needs some TLC to the toilets and would probably benefit from turning the old kitchen upstairs into a second bar (although I understand that might not be operationally possible). Also having Yard Sale is great - much better than when they did their own food. Would be nice to expand partnership with more local restaurants.

  A brilliant bar, Hagen and Hyde, close to the underground. A real oasis away from the madness that is outside. Good selection of keg beer and cask that I don't recognize available. Loads of outside space for the sunny days to come (on three levels). There is a stage so live music is likely. Food is from yardsalepizza brought in. A great time was had by all, thanks due to the lovely staff!

  If only I could give 0 stars… first of all.. this pub is very discriminatory and abrasive against Deaf people. They explained that they had come and informed someone about not being allowed on the stage area and asked that this information be informed to the rest of the group.. as a hearing member of the group and as a fully qualified Interpreter, this had not been passed on to the full group (seeing as there was over 35 of us at one point, most of all were Deaf). and trying to explain to the staff the situation and only being given back attitude and aggressiveness from the so called…

  Best pub in balham! Billie the Assistant manager is just the loveliest person I have ever met and she runs the pub with such a kind and firm hand - there are soooo many people here for the live music at the weekend and she manages everything perfectly! The music is fab and the staff are always absolutely incredible wether it’s a Monday or a Friday!
