About Half Moon
Plush rooms above a cosy pub offering breakfast & Wi-Fi, plus seasonal open-air dining.
Dating from 1896, this is one of Britain's Real Heritage Pubs hardly touched by the modern era. Relaunched in spring 2017 following an impressive restoration by Fuller Smith & Turner, the L-shaped bar serves two main rooms, plus there is also a large kitchen and dining room and a lovely snug. The well preserved interior features wood panelling, a chandelier, engraved mirrors and leaded windows. At the front and rear are spacious outside seating areas, including a fire pit. Late licence on Friday and Saturday nights, with small function space called 'The Workshop' at rear of the pub. 8 handpumps in 2 banks, each of 4, although on recent visits only one set is being used at all.
Card payment only here.

We booked the suite room, it was fantastic and breakfast choices were good. Check in was great, shown to our room.and everything explained. The actual pub is great. I would recommend if you're visiting the 02 academy.

We recently visited London for the first time and stayed at the Half Moon for 3 nights and we absolutely loved it. We try to stay 20-30 min from city center when traveling like this so we experience daily culture as well; if you like to do the same the Half moon is a great option. The train station was 5 min walking and the property it's self was beautiful, clean, and a great atmosphere. The staff made us feel so welcome and you could tell this hotel is a big part of the Herne Hill community. This was truly a great find.

The pub is beautiful and has been lovingly restored. Your drink prices are hugely inflated . I work in East Dulwich and if any of those also lovely pubs dared to charge £7.45 a pint they would get short shift and would probably close. The fact you can get away with those prices speaks volumes about the clientele you have. But it's not for me. It's not Central London. Behave yourselves and get the prices down below £7. Honestly, it's disgusting.

Booked the private area in the beer garden for some post wedding drinks and would highly recommend. Booking process (via Ann-Marie) was really simple, the area was great and we had a really fun night.

The local bar is amazing with great staff. It's dog-friendly as well, and the bar staff loved spending time with Buddy, my assistance dog, once he was not working. I will definitely be back.
