About Prince Regent

Updated Victorian pub with large picture windows, elegant furniture and internal wooden screens.

Victorian corner pub opposite Brockwell Park with an elaborate exterior including a statue of the Prince Regent. The refurbished interior is just as impressive, with a wood and glass screen creating two separate rooms. A large brewery mirror indicates this was once a Truman's pub. Food, ranging from traditional to gastro, is served lunchtimes and evenings.

Staff and vibe are lovely, but oh man the vegan food is bad. I saw 2-3 options and thought “oh, that’s good, they know what they’re doing.” The burger arrived literally as a dry blob in a bun. Not a hint of even salad or sauce. The ‘steak’ looked like a chunky frozen job bought from Iceland for £1.20. I and the table beside me literally just described it as “sad, sorry looking food cooked with absolutely no love.” I felt like I’d been punished for ordering the vegan option. Please, please either cook it like you’re proud of your profession, or take it off the menu so we can get real food…

I have been going to the Prince Regent for years. Its my local and I love it there. The manager and Tony behind the bar are professional, friendly and welcoming. Quiz night is fun. The burgers are great and very reasonably priced. I have tried a lot of their meals and all have been good. The pub attracts a mixed friendly crowd of people. Dogs are very welcome and often spoilt by the staff.

By FAR the best pub in Brixton/ Herne Hill. Great food, good beer, friendly bar staff and general good vibes. Why wouldn’t you come here! Until next time my prince 🫡
