About Heron
Classic English pub with ales & a beer garden, plus a lower-level restaurant serving Thai cuisine.
Built in 1972 as part of the Hyde Park Estate, the one room bar interior whilst spacious has the cosy feel of a Swiss chalet. A silver birch shelters the adjacent beer-garden, heated in winter. As well as cask ale (two in winter otherwise one handpump may be devoted to Weston's Old Rosie cider) there's a range of bottled and keg craft ales available. Three large screens await your sporting interest: the sound levels are kept moderately low and unobtrusive. There is a downstairs Thai restaurant; it supplies the food in the bar.
The internationally-famous Handlebar Club meets here on the first Friday of the month. The club was founded in 1947 in the dressing room of comedian Jimmy Edwards at The Windmill Theatre in London. There were 10 founder members, including Jimmy Edwards and script-writer and raconteur Frank Muir. The Heron has pictures from the Handlebar Club's history adorning its walls, plus a good range of interior fittings from the nearby now-closed Windsor Castle, the Club's previous home.

Lovely pub. Excellent Thai kitchen available. Restaurant is downstairs however we opted to eat in the bar area. The bar is adorned with lots of British historical memorabilia. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Quality of the food was really good. My vegetarian daughter was well catered for.

Really like this cozy neighbourhood pub with an attached family-run Thai restaurant in the basement. Food was authentic and very on par with what you get in Thailand. The pub itself is a typical old-style establishment but the staff were cool and down-to-earth, and the patrons in this area generally a pleasant bunch. Can't go wrong having a drink here.

A fine olde pub in a new suit. The Heron offers a very traditional pub atmosphere albeit clothed in a modern building at the base of a residential tower lock. A fine selection of keg beers on offer along with a couple of cask ales. There are plenty of little nooks and crannies to get comfy in. Sport is available on the bi screen. A fun place to visit.

Really good place to go for a drink in a pricey part of town as the drinks are fairly reasonable considering. The Thai food is also very nice and not too overpriced. The Heron is an old school pub with lots of seating areas; inside outside and somewhere in between. It has got quite a few TVs so a good spot to watch sport. The pub is about an 8 minute wall from Paddington Station, Edgware Road is a bit closer. Great place to kill time when the trains are on the blink.
