About Lord Wargrave

Victorian-style pub with L-shaped bar offering local produce British menu and malt whisky list.

Built in 1866, this is an ex-Finch's pub that changed to Young's ownership and in 2014 to Urban, the new venture from the RealPubs management team. L-shaped layout, and the pub's standout feature is the magnificent collection of whiskies, 250+ and still growing! Four ale handpumps, six craft beer fonts plus two lagers and a Guinness font. The food menu has a smokehouse theme and concentrates on burgers, ribs, and BBQ type-food, plus Sunday roasts.

As with many other central London pubs post-pandemic, there have been reports that the ale range has been reduced here to one or two. Further updates welcome.

The Lord Wargrave is a bar/restaurant that was only about a 5 minute walk away from where myself and my partner were staying. We came on a Saturday night, around 8pm. A fair sized place that very much prides itself on it's smokehouse menu. It has a massive array of whiskeys available too. My partner had the rack of ribs (I did try a little bit, they were very nice). I had the Loaded Mac & Cheese, also the Loaded Fries & also some Spiced Tater Tots. We both had dessert after our mains. The Sticky Toffee Pudding was incredible! The staff were friendly and very attentive too. We felt…

We stopped into Lord Wargrave for Sunday roast today and had a great meal. To start, we had the fried halloumi which was prepared with buffalo sauce and ranch. The ranch dipping sauce had great flavor and was very light which was nice. For our mains, we had one pork roast, one beef roast and a Caesar salad. The Caesar salad had a ton of chicken on it which was a nice bonus. For dessert, we obviously had to end the meal with sticky toffee pudding. This tends to be our go-to dessert and this one was one of the best we’ve had thus far in London.

Excellent BBQ - big plates of wings (the Fire Wings are very, very 🔥 🥵), plus a choice of ribs including thick juicy pork, and baby back. Big helpings - I could barely walk back to the tube after lunch! We did not try the non-meat options, but I'm sure they were also very good. This is a great place for BBQ & slow cooked meats!

Let me say this is BY FAR the BEST BBQ I've eaten here in London. The location is just off of a main street, so it's tucked away from all the noise. The atmosphere is very chill which is ideal. The drinks are amazing and all the staff are very knowledgeable (especially if you're a whiskey drinker). The Food is hands down AMAZING! I've been 2 times so far and loved it each time. Shout out to Elliott for being so gracious, attentive, and caring. Shout out to the other employees for making the experience worth coming back! Cheers!!

Absolutely loved it!! We came here twice during our visit this week. The food is great, everyone in the staff is so so nice and welcoming!! And their ice tea, oh my god, it’s so good, best I’ve had!! Our server was so sweet and she just felt like an amazing person
