About Hope
Compact, lively pub with real ales, unpretentious bar meals served upstairs and TV sports.
Licensed in 1772, the present building dates from 1867. Upper windows protected as “Ancient Lights”. Formerly a small corner no-frills pub, with a bare wooden floor, bench seating, tables and stools, a quick refurbishment in the summer of 2017 has seen this pub go up-market as a pie and ale house. Awaiting a re-inspection by the local CAMRA branch. The upstairs lounge is available for parties or functions. Families and dogs are welcome, plus free WiFi.

If you're up for the craic, this is a great place to go. Totally unpretentious and untacky pub with a great Irish beer and comprehensive whiskey selection (other nations' drinks are available). Great community feel where visitors are welcome. Clean and well maintained (and that's just the staff 😁)

This bar in and of itself is a good enough reason to visit London! In my humble opinion, this is what a bar experience should be like. And if you're into Whiskey - with the 'e' - this is the place to be. Loved every minute of being there, and looking forward to returning! P.S. Go for some Knockeen Hills if you're there - you'll be up for one hell of a surprise! Cheers!

Best pint in London, hands down! The Hope is a gem and one of my favourite pubs in the city. Very friendly staff and a pint of Murphy’s what cannot be liked. I’m sure this is one of the only pubs in the UK serving pints of Murphy’s, which makes it extra unique. Also, if you are fortunate, you may catch an appearance from Stomp the Dog.

🚇Goodge Street 🍺 £6.60 Guinness A Fantastic New Irish Pub. The Hope is tucked away in the back streets of Fitzrovia just off Tottenham Court Road. The nearest Tube is Goodge Street, it’s a two minute walk to get here. This pub was first licensed in 1809, the present building dates from 1867. The Hope was taken over late last year and given a new lease of life with a new Irish Guv’nor at the helm. This is a one bar pub that is small and perfectly formed. The decor here is traditional with a few contemporary touches here and there. The servery runs the length of the bar and has an exposed…

Cozy, friendly but slightly slow service. One person on the bar at 16:30 on a Friday is probably not the best idea. Limited seating downstairs but like I said very cosy, nice atmosphere, unfortunately their ipa selection was off so settled for a Murphys. Big selection of spirits and smaller selection of bottled beers available.
