About Horatia

Lively pub with late licence at weekends, for live bands, dance lessons and big-screen sport.

Tiled picture of Lord Nelson by the front door. Menu & kitchen run by Borough Foods. New tenants took over in July 2013. Two or three changing real ales and over 60 craft beers (see website for list).

In Dec 2023 our reporter informs us, "BBNo cask beer was on in the Horatia in Holloway on Sunday night (17/12/23), along with Renegade Good Old Boy. This place is worth a quick look in. The Sunday before they had a cask Kernel and something else. Even the keg selection is good, even festive versions of some beers." There are 3 handpumps. Also a piano and board games and Retro Games.

Nice pub, very spacious and good if in a somewhat large group. They have nice paintings up behind the bar, there are some big sofa areas and there is table football. Solid pub, would recommend

🚇Highbury & Islington 🍺 £5.80 Romola Birra Di Roma ❤️ One of N7’s finest. . The Horatia is located at the bottom end of Holloway Road and is just a five minute stroll from Highbury & Islington station. . Formerly The Lord Nelson, The Horatia was built around 1860 and has seen its fair share of changes over the years. Holloway Road pubs were not always as welcoming as they are today, in 2010 this pub got its ducks in a row and has never looked back. . This is a spacious pub which still feels cosy and intimate. The decor here is traditional with a rustic edge. There are plenty places to sit…

Decent enough pub on Holloway Road. Nothing special or remarkable but it's nice and open so there's room for groups. The toilets can be smelt across most of the pub however.

Just got charged £8 a pint! Absolutely criminal! This was a pale ale, craft beer, yes but nothing particularly fancy, high ABV nor small batch. Would never have paid that much if the price had been advertised. We're well outside of Central London so this is a shocking price! The barman said after there was nothing below the £7 mark on draft, so be warned! Other than that, a fairly nice large pub and fairly busy on a Thursday early evening. Another lovely pub just down the road has decent IPAs from £5.50.

Good selection of beers, but interior is quite old fashioned especially ceiling. Friendly staff and looks family friendly. Fresh air without smell of old beer.
