About Lemon Tree
Real ales, pub fare and big-screen TV sport in homely spaces with Thai food served upstairs.
It's easy, but not recommended, to miss the Lemon Tree just off Chandos Place and next to the stage door of the Coliseum. It's a small pub, with a first floor "secret lounge" providing some more room, dating back to around 1737, and Lemon Tree Yard adjacent used to be a lot larger with a successful coaching business into the 20th century.
The pub is an old favourite with stagehands and musicians, as well as Coliseum-goers and locals. Five ale handpumps dispense at least three different ales; three 1/3 pints are also served. This is a successful wet-led pub reported by its operator as a "business is based on standing customers drinking craft beer and craft gin and the results are very consistent".
The Lemon Tree site has been noted by Westminster Council as an unlisted building of merit.

The Lemon tree is a quaint pub in the centre of London. I thought it would be extremely busy since it was 19:00 on a Saturday night but it wasn't. Downstairs was full of people, but the upstairs was completely empty. I ordered a chicken satay, mini ribs and a duck red curry with fried egg. The food was ok, I enjoyed the Guinness though 😊 The staff were really nice, attentive and didn't mind my jokes which was nice. If you're in the centre of London and you're looking for a drink and Thai food, then the lemon tree is for you.

2 of us, got an entree each and a beer, 48 pound total. Food was good, service was quite slow on a Thursday evening. There is an unmentioned 10% service charge, so deducting a star for that.

This is a small, quaint pub which offers good service. They had 4 cask ales but I opted for a reasonably priced double Makers Mark at £8.70. At 4.30pm is was quite busy, mainly comprised of locals. They do offer Thai food, Pad Thai starts at £11 as does the curry and rice. They also have some USB charging points. In summary a nice pub, well worth a visit.

Dodging the hordes of people, we didn't think we would find any place for dinner that wasn't packed. What a nice surprise to find The Lemon Tree! A small nice Thai restaurant upstairs from the bar, we were sure it couldn't be any good. The food and atmosphere was fantastic! There are only about 6 tables, but the service was excellent and the food delicious! I had the fried rice with chicken, and my wife had the pad Thai. They were both excellent, filled with vegetables and large chunks of chicken. The prices were very reasonable. I would recommend you give this quaint restaurant a try…

Great hidden gem. The Thai food was delicious and such a decent price for the location. Definitely recommend. Hubby said he could eat his dish 3 or 4 times over.
