About Porterhouse

Large pub with gleaming copper pipes, imported draught beers and late-night basement music club.

A Tardis-like multi-levelled establishment, featuring riveted steel beams, industrial style pipes providing the air-conditioning, polished handrails, cabinets of beer, whiskies, and spirits collected by the owners since the 1990s, and an impressive clock with exposed mechanism. The pub was designed by Irish architect Frank Ennis and claims to be the largest pub in London. It is the London showcase for Ireland's Porterhouse Brewery Company, providing the one cask ale - Turner's Sticklebract Bitter (TSB) - from the Porterhouse range plus three guest ales. The various other Porterhouse Brewery beers are served under gas pressure but are unpasteurised. There is a large range of American, Belgian and other European bottled beers.

Food served includes burgers, pizza, pies, steak, sandwiches, and various snacks; and of course Sunday roasts. A large outdoor area at the front of the premises, heated in winter, provides for smokers and al-fresco dining. Very popular with the after-work crowd and then the evening revellers; live music towards the end of the week.

A wall plaque commemorates the artist JMW Turner, who lived in a house on the site.

Super cool place to go with a bunch of people to drink, eat , watch sports on the large screens , listen to live bands(when available ) and have loads of fun. The atmosphere is very Irish ☘️ Steampunk with multi-levels filled with couches, sitting areas, dark intimate corners and long wide tables for loud/merry groups. They also have a beautiful energetic patio. The food is good and the drinks are great! I personally enjoy their fish & chips.(my opinion) The staff is really nice, welcoming and friendly which elevates the experience for the customers. The location is also perfect, right in the…

We went to see a live uefa match in our one-week visit to London. And we immediately knew we had to come back here 😍 so we did and also enjoyed the live music performance. The band was great. So was the beer!

The service was very bad and disturbing. On Wednesday, between 5:00 and 5:20 PM, three of us were here, and our friends were supposed to join us. Before our friends arrived, we only had 2 half-pints of beer, but during this time, the waitress asked us three times if we wanted anything else, making us feel her dissatisfaction. A few minutes later, she came with the POS machine before we even finished our beers. Moreover, a service charge was added without asking us. In a place with a mandatory service charge, we would at least expect the waitress to identify which two orders she found…

Visited here to watch the United v Brighton match before I went to See Back to the Future at the Adelphi which is a very short walk away. There was a good atmosphere in the bar and it got busier as the game went on. I ordered chicken wings and chips to graze over whilst the game went on (still full of the hotel breakfast). The food was good if a little expensive (what I expected for London). The waitress took more drinks orders from me as the game went on and brought them to my table - contactless card payment accepted. I would go back, although they don't allow children.
