About London Beer Dispensary

Converted from the Mr Lawrence Wine Bar, this pub originally re-opened in 2014 under the ownership of Late Knights Brewery of Penge. With Late Knights Brewery ceasing trading in August 2016 the beer range here changed to include one of that brewery's reincarnation as Southey, along with brews from other micro-breweries plus ciders. Wines, spirits and soft drinks are also available. Food is available from the next door Pizza operation. This is a narrow deep venue, wooden boarded throughout. The front room is attractively dark wood wall panelled to head height. It is a deep step down to a long corridor with a shelf which accommodates upright drinking and this leads to the rear room which provides more traditional seating. There is a small covered patio garden at the back which is ideal for smokers. The real ale and cider menu is provided on a blackboard high on the wall to the right of the bar.

Real ale and cider (not sure if always real) are sold from 4 handpumps and 9 keg taps, all located several yards from the entrance door.

Card payment only here, cash not accepted.

Re-opened late March 2024 after a short closure period. Expected to be adding a pie menu imminently.

Came in tonight for karaoke not knowing it was a craft beer bar. Manager Beth was so informative and helped me through many choices of beer and really made us laugh and feel at home. Not been here before but will be back because of the excellent service.

I've been drinking here for years and while the beers aren't the cheapest in Brockley they're the best by a long way. Great staff too - friendly and personable, always ready for a natter at a quiet moment. A lovely welcoming environment that's a real asset to the area.

This is a South East London gem. A place for beer enthusiasts that also makes good pub food. Try the nachos and you won’t be disappointed. I also love how they have chilli in many dishes! Staff is very welcoming and they welcome dogs too. What’s not to like?

We popped in on a Thursday afternoon. I think we caught the employee on an off day, as he had a cold. He was friendly enough, but even though I mentioned it was our first time, he didn't offer to make any recommendations, which I would have liked. I had a Blueberry and Vanilla stout and my boyfriend had a Southey Ale of some sort. Both were lovely and something we hadn't tried before. I think some better music rather than washed out acoustic covers of bad pop songs would have been well received. My boyfriend and I love so many different genres, but something more appealing definitely could…

Really cosy pub, expected larger selection of beers, but overall not bad local spot!
