About Marlborough Arms
Relaxed pub close to local transport hub, with cask ales on tap and a British menu.
The Marlborough Arms is named in reference to the coat of arms worn by the third and subsequent Duke of Marlborough, John Churchill. A traditional pub to suit all tastes perpetually busy with students, business people, tourists and locals from a surprisingly residential area. A large open area surrounded by oak panelling and some fine features, with the bar pushed to one side making an easy area to fill with tables in regular formation but with a nod to informality and comfort in the small area beyond the bar. Metal tables and chairs outside under pull out awnings available until 9pm.
In 2021 the exterior was redecorated and we have retained some pics showing how it looked - better in our mind!

Enjoyed Sunday lunch, having the steak and ale pie. Came in yesterday and the place was overflowing. Came back today and was able to get a table. Food was delicious and the service very good. Recommended for a traditional British pub experience.

A traditional 'brown boozer'. Wood panelling etc throughout. So a very traditional British pub. Obviously in this area dominated by the UCL crowd. I can't say I'm a regular but I first went here in 1978. I hope to clock up a half century

If I knew it was a Greene King pub I wouldn’t have bothered. Out of the 7 cask taps 2 were stocked (greene king ipa and old golden hen) all keg taps were the normal mix of big brand rubbish. Went for Faith Hazy Pale ale and it was mediocre at best. Very disappointed

Very attractive Greene King corner pub. Apparently very popular with students, but quiet mid-Friday afternoon. Despite advertising cask ales and having seven hand pumps, only Greene King IPA appeared to be on offer. Instead I had a pint of Guinness which, to be honest, wasn’t poured well. The staff member was very friendly and I liked the decor, but there are much better pubs in the area.

Good old boozer. Clean, good choice of beers and footy on the tvs. Food available but we didn't eat here.
