About Old Ale Emporium
Small corner-house pub with mix of students and locals. Following a renovation this pub now has a lovely atmosphere. There is a heated covered area for smokers, a polished wood floor, nice furniture, celebrity photos on the wall and a jukebox with 5000 selections.
The guest ales come from the Heineken list and can be quite varied. On a visit in March 2023 the beers were Greene King Yardbird, Butcome Bitter and Gales HSB. Basically the cellar man will choose what he thinks is a good beer and will be popular with his clientele which can produce unexpected surprises at a fair price (£4.00 a pint in March 2023). Two handpumps are immediately on your left on entering, the third can be found further down the bar.

This is a lovely old school traditional pub. If you’re expecting trendy craft beers and frills then this simply isn’t the place for you. It’s cozy, genuine and you can tell the locals have a great relationship with the bar staff. These types of pubs arnt common place anymore and it’s a shame. If you want a decent pint and a warm atmosphere then I really do recommend.

Lovely cosy traditional pub on the bustling Green Lanes. 3 well kept and quite unusual cask ales were well priced at £4 a pint, which is a bargain. The service was excellent and the locals seem to be a friendly bunch. Great stuff!

It is a real Pub that is run well and has all the essential aspects and more that a pub should have. The words cheap shouldn't be used for this pub. Because cheap it is, but far more than that. It is Very Good Value ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ a place that is well maintained and somewhere that so many newcomers are surprised to find 👍🏻

What surprises me about this bar is that it's usually always busy when I visit. Very popular place with the locals. It's cheaper and freindlier than the nearby Salisbury so it makes sense. They have two well kept cask ales that are served just a touch on the cold side but rather than than too warm. Good atmosphere, reasonably priced and convenient for a mid shop pint whilst exploring Green Lanes

Everything about this pub is awful. Went there over the weekend with 5 mates, looking for a friendly environment to watch the football. As we were getting ourselves situated, the owner (who was rude and disrespectful to us from the start) came over and threatened to turn the TV off if we weren't going to buy anything. This was less than 5 minutes into us even getting a seat. We all purchased a soft drink each and continued to watch the game. About half an hour later, the owner came up to our table (again) and aggresively took a few empty cups and once again, threatened us to turn the TV off…
