Really sweet and lively place — I hadn’t been to this pub before the Big Smoke acquired it, but now it seems to have transformed into such a great spot! The food is always good, the staff are super friendly, it’s busy pretty much every night of the week, and it has a lovely beer garden. The Sunday roast was one of the best one I’ve had in a while, and their small plates are also great and worth trying.

Love a Big Smoke pub, but this one just seems to lack the edge of The Antelope, Albion and Flintgate. Food we had wasn't quite to the the standards expected and experienced at their other locations. Maybe taking a bit of time to settle down and will try again in the hope it delivers like we would expect. Still worth a visit, drink selection is great and layout nice.

Had some lovely drinks in the pub A few nights ago and we had a great time. It was their first Friday after the refurb and me and my dad had a few drinks enjoying the atmosphere. The staff and management were amazing the food smelt and looked delicious and the drinks were great! Very much looking forward to some more visits to the Poyntz to try their food and experience the entertainment. Good luck and thank you to all the team.

Edit: went back in yesterday for a coke, killing time whilst child at a club, and the place for late afternoon Monday was buzzing. Used to be flat on a Monday at that time in the past so adjusting review! Just reopend and like everyone in the area super excited. We love The Big Smoke pub in Surbiton. Went on Friday night and sat outside with a drink and it was lovely. Staff were friendly etc. We were looking forward to our late lunch booking the following day but ended up leaving before we ate. It was a combination of red flags, no table reserved for us, trying to seat us at a clearly far…
