About Princess Of Wales
Regency-style gastropub with a dining room serving refined British grub and a garden barbecue.
Operated by Marylebone Leisure Group, and recently very elegantly refurbished, this pub is set over three floors that include an elegant first floor dining room, lower-ground bar, with an island serving area and wooden floor, an event space and the ‘Banksy beer garden’ (named after a mysterious lion stencil that appeared in 2011). Live Jazz is played on Sunday afternoons. The pub was built in 1868 and named for Princess Alexandra, consort of Edward VII. Appears once to have been called Swans at Coole (after W B Yeats poem).

Came here once before with my family who were visiting London for the first time, enjoyed this place the first time I came so decided to come back with family friends who were also visiting London for the first time , their Sunday roast menu is amazing and delicious! Highly recommend, excellent service and staff are friendly! Also great veg/vegan options! Damiano gave us the best service and will be coming back again!

Stopped here on a whim for an early dinner after slogging through Camden Market and so glad we did. Bright, welcoming space and really friendly staff who went out of their way to make two tourists feel at home. Food (I had the braised beef cheeks, pictured) was excellent, and a decent selection of wine was on offer. Would definitely return. Oh, and there were a TON of dogs in the place later (with their owners), if that's your thing.

This is a lovely, traditional pub with a bit of history. It is split on 2 levels with the main area dominated by an island bar. There is also a few tables outside and a quirky beer garden with colourful umbrellas providing limited shelter. There is also a picture of a young girl and a lion that is rumoured to be a Banksy! We visited on a lovely, sunny Sunday and were keen to get an outside table or one in the beer garden. Although the pub was busy we were given a table in the beer garden after a short wait 😀 There is good selection of beers, spirits and cocktails. The food was excellent…

Good vibe, Particularly at night. It would be better to get reservation in advance. You can just walk in on weekend.

Great service, friendly and welcoming staff. Beautiful decor and clean environment. Food was delicious! Decent menu with good range of choices, not too large and not too small. Sunday Roast was overall great! Wished the porkskin was a bit crisper.
