About Ring

Pub with a contemporary refit, walls adorned with boxing pictures & a classic Thai food menu.

One bar corner pub named after a famous boxing arena that stood across the road from 1910 until destroyed by bombs in WW2. Pictures of the rich, local boxing history adorn the walls, including one of a former professional boxer, Neville Axford, who ran the pub until 2001. Major sporting events on terrestrial TV and boxing bouts on YouTube are shown. Four handpumps dispense cask ales and 14 keg taps include beers from London micro-breweries. Additional seating outdoors under awnings on the pavement/patio on both sides at the front. Thai food served lunchtimes from a curry shack outside and lunchtimes and evenings inside. Children welcome up to 9.30 pm (earlier Thursday to Saturday when crowded). Card payment only.

Pretty good pub with a special atmosphere centered around the idea of a boxing Ring. We went there in September 2023. The food was fine, pub-like, but also Thai food as well - this is fairly original and a good idea. Nice beer selection. Great location.

Walked past a few times on our way back to the hotel, and decided to look it up. It said they serve Thai food, but this is NOT your average Thai food restaurant! Grab a beer, and order some food, you won’t be disappointed!

Busy corner pub opposite Southwark tube station. They server food and have a Thia menu but I didn't try it on this occasion. Boxing themed pub with lots of photos and memorabilia on the walls and a large screen TV showing classic fights.

Cheerful pub which celebrates the boxing history of the area. They’ve been boxing around here since Roman times, as evidenced by Palestra House across the road. This pub is quite small but punches above its weight in hospitality, food, amenities and quality and choice of drinks. They have a great range of beers on tap and some amazing whiskey and whisky.
