About Roundhouse
Gastro dining in a neighbourhood pub with wooden tables and 1940s framed adverts on the walls.
Popular gastropub in a Victorian corner building that retains ornate entrance lobby among some original features. Excellent food as well as real ale attract a mainly young, affluent crowd and 'beer platters' offering a third of each of five imported bottled beers are now available. Booking is essential for Monday 8pm quiz as well as Sunday lunchtimes. Rugby internationals shown on terrestrial TV. Formerly called Freemasons (the mosaic can still be seen in the entrance to the pub) the pub has reverted to The Roundhouse.

Nice pub with good food. Drinks are on the expensive side but the food is reasonably priced and good quality. There’s outdoor seating at the front and lots of tables inside. Each table has a qr code you can scan to get drinks and food delivered quickly to your table which was very efficient and worked well.

We ate here on a weekday and found some of the food very good - especially the cold salmon. We booked for a Saturday visit and found the reverse. The fish and chips was the driest I have ever encountered and almost inedible. My companions announced the cheesecake (clearly defrosted) was both hot and still frozen. Consistency is missing.

I chose this pub because of its ratings, which were slightly higher than those of other pubs in the area. Unfortunately, I’m not sure why. The food was very good, but there were some drawbacks, such as a poor cut for my ordered steak that was also overdone. They were out of a lot of items, but that was because they were closing in a week for remodeling. It’s a good thing they were remodeling because the place could use a face-lift. The staff was nice but forgot some important things, like a steak knife and plates for the appetizer. Overall, it wasn’t bad, but I don’t think it was worth the…

Really great for a Sunday roast and drink! Food came out quickly and was extremely good, our waitress was also lovely.
