About Ship
Largely opened up inside and modernised to some extent, this pub retains the atmosphere of a real pub. The bar area on the right is furnished with normal tables and chairs, but through an archway on the left is another room, extending back beyond the servery, with a few tall tables/tall stools and more standard furnishings. This room also contains a rarely seen bar billiards table. Decor is inevitably, and appropriately, nautically themed, with ships' wheels, ships' lamps and seafaring based prints on the walls. Three or four real ales usually available plus a cider on the 6 handpumps. Food is available lunchtimes and evenings every day, and all day at weekends. There's an express lunch menu on weekdays. Quiz night on Tuesdays and live music on Saturdays. Also has accommodation suites sleeping 9-12 people on the upper floors.

My previous review of this pub was spot on and has aged well. Despite the change in management, the pub is still thriving. Pizza Mondays are always a treat, and the staff remains welcoming and attentive!

The perfect spot to land after playing tourist all day. We came in just craving food and ended up having so much DELICIOUS pizza and cider! Great food and warm, friendly staff that we enjoyed shooting the breeze with. 10/10.

Surprise to find that they have lots of special beer, great beer garden to chill. Superb nice bartender to recommend you the beer you like, don’t miss it. Will definitely back to try their food.

The Ship is located on Kennington Road, the nearest tube station is Lambeth North which is a ten minute walk. . The pub was built around 1830 and is set back from the road allowing for an outdoor space at the front. . The decor here is vibrant and eclectic which sets an uplifting tone.
