About Three Crowns

Whitewashed walls and wood panelling adorn this airy pub for seasonal British fare and craft beer.

Feb 2024 - the shareholders of the City Pub Group have agreed to the sale of the company to Young's. Change of operator will, we understand, thake place from 4th March.

Reverted to The Three Crowns in April 2017 after spending a year as Hill & Szrok (a butchery-focussed pub). At the end of 2009/early 2010 all the surrounding buildings had been knocked down, while the pub, which is locally listed, remained standing and was used as a site office for the adjacent redevelopment.

In 2013 the pub re-opened. Comprehensive internal refurbishment into a modern venue has seen the space trebled in size which has allowed a dedicated dining area to be added with an open kitchen. Of note, the pub has had an exterior refurbishment which revealed an original bottle-green-tiled Barclay's Brewery (appears pre-Barclay Perkins) facade. An imaginative retention of what had become a tired pub. A Premier Inn is next door.

Wow, can’t say enough good things about this place! Stopped at the Z Hotel across the road for 3 days (2 adults and 2 children), came across for a drink each night, excellent service and great atmosphere. On the second night we opted to sample the food and that didn’t disappoint, all the meals were well prepared, tasted great and left us feeling satisfied. Highly recommend.

This is a pub that I always like to start at when I'm staying in the area, and I've always had a warm welcome every time I come here, and today was no exception. Had the burger while I was here while watching the football, and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had in London. Great service, great food. Absolutely would recommend.

Went in for a random Monday night dinner, and I really liked the vibe. They were having a pub quiz but had so many other tables available for dinner, and we didn’t get bothered at all by the noise. The pub is huge, the cosy atmosphere is really nice and the food is honestly really good! I really enjoyed the pork chop, it was perfectly cooked! The fish cake was okay but the broccolini were a bit too sour due to the lemon juice. Otherwise everything else was quite enjoyable, will definitely come back.

Came with a couple friends on a random Monday for happy hour and it was such a pleasant surprise! Great food and drink selection, staff is lovely! Will definitely come back.

Top notch food, with stone cold service. Both staff appeared rather miserable. It wasn’t busy, but minimal effort and consequently it felt very transactional. The presence one member of staff actually created a depressing atmosphere whenever you interacted with her. In stark contrast, the food wss perfect and one of the best pub roasts I’ve had in a while. This could be a real attraction if the customer service was made warmer and friendlier.
